Hackers In The Area

12/12/2019

Found yet another hacker on my gmail account/computer who owns an Asus 7 2012 model.  Was alerted by google for an unusual log in.   Yep, filed another report about it.  I really don't know if its doing much good to file those reports but maybe one day they will be caught.  I provided the pertinent information including their IP address.  Filed a report with the local police department who still to this day says they don't have the equipment to do anything about it.  Except I know they have a whole IT department.  Plus we have had a few thefts in the area.  One of our neighbors had his white Cadillac stolen.    The hacking is being done locally I believe.  By individuals who have equipment to hack into wifi signals.  Hard to keep them out.  It's become an everyday thing around here.  I know if I'm being hacked this way so are others.  I filed a fraud alert on all the credit bureaus just in case.  I also alerted my ID monitoring provider as well.   So, if any of you locals are reading I would suggest you do the same.  Most of it is harassment but they do gain knowledge of such things as bank account balances and credit cards.  They haven't taken anything out of my accounts but I was pretty swift on notifying my bank etc.  That kinda puts a stop to their plans as well.   Still don't like the thought of this happening all time and that they are nosing into other peoples business.    Another thing you may want to consider is putting tape over your computer camera's and phone camera's.  I use black electrical tape as its easy to peel off without leaving paper behind or a lot of glue.   This does nothing for your microphone though.  They can hear everything.   Security camera's are hackable as well.  Some people just needs to find better things to do with their time.  I'm quite boring and have no idea why they would be interested in a middle aged women and her cat. Including my retired elderly mother.  The only thing I do worry about is children because they must be perverted to set and do this all the time.  Child predators and all.  Others wise nothing much to see here!

With my animals being shot and hurt as well its more trouble some to me.  I have to wonder if there is a psychopath living near here or drug delusional type individuals.

Suggestions:

1.  Keep a check on your computers/cell phones run virus scans and bot scanners and secure as best         you can.  Webroot is a good paid program for this.  Spectrum provides a security program for             computers if you use spectrum download it from their site.  Also, use the windows security                 programs to it's free.

2.  Cover up your camera's on your computers, cell phones.  I use black electrical tape as it peels off easily and doesn't damage your camera or phone.

3.  Use "Wired" security camera's not wifi if you can. Or camera's with SD cards that doesn't use           wifi such as those tiny cop cams.

4.   If you think you may have been hacked file a fraud alert with all three credit bureaus.  It's easy            just call them over the phone their numbers are listed on the internet.  This way anyone who is trying to open new lines of credit etc.  will have to prove their identity first.  Makes it harder for them to steal your identity.  Keep a check on your bank accounts and credit reports.  You can get a free yearly credit report at www.freecreditreport.com .  Make sure you go only to the official site.  Believe it or not there is some fraud sites waiting to steal your information as well.  Double check to make sure its the official site.

5.  Get a credit monitoring service.  There's several out there.  I'm using IDCare.  This adds more protection and services if your identity actually gets stolen.  Plus they offer lawyers to help you straighten it out if it happens.  Along with some financial protection.   Well worth it and IDCare actually scans the darknet or darkweb for your social security numbers to see if there being sold or used.

6.  Be aware of your area and where the sexual predators live.  There are many in this area.  Click this link for map.....https://tnmap.tn.gov/sor/

7.  Put up some motion sensor lighting around your house.  You can find some that's battery operated that doesn't require an electrician to install wiring.  (Lowes, Amazon)

8.  Keep an eye on your children.  If you have two way cams somebody may be speaking to them through it and watching them.   With the potential of hacking this puts your child in danger over the internet as well even if your monitoring their online activity.  Hackers may actually be using their computer to watch them even communicate with them.  Sometime's this doens't even require the use of the internet or apps.  If the computer is hacked they are being watched, listened to, and possible talked to or typed to.  Turn off all computers cell phones that are not needed during the night or when not in use instead of leaving them on all the time.

Even with all these precautions know that your still at risk.  That's why it's necessary these days to take extra precautions.  Most thief's are lazy.  Likes easy targets and don't wont to have to work hard to get it.  These precautions will slow them down a bit and hopefully stop them.   I'm sure there is much more you can do that I don't know about.  Feel free to post comments with things you think may help.
