Sunday Drive
06/04/2018
Went riding around today. My usual places up around TVA South Holston Dam and Holston River.
Didn't see many ducks today but of course the Canadian Geese where around. Seen swallow nest under a bridge. The swallows where swooping in and out in a hurrying fashion feeding their young. I made a video of it but it was a foggy/steamy day and the video isn't as clear as I would wanted it to be. I put it on my flickr site TN Amy H if you want to see it.
Tried to take a picture of a deer near the edge of the road. It was on the passenger side of the car so taking a picture was difficult from the drivers side. That's my mother in the passenger seat.
Mom pointed out some pink roses on a rock cliff. She said they where called wondering roses. She used to have some on a bank when she lived in Blountville. They covered the whole bank. They are hard to get rid of once started but they are very pretty.
It was nice to get out of the house for a while. The distraction did us some good. I'm going to go back to hike some of the other trails soon. Mom is not able to walk much so wasn't able to hike today. I can still do small hikes nothing elaborate. Enjoyed spending time with my mom.
My raised flower bed I made was actually turned into a small vegetable garden instead. Tomato's, Onions, Peppers, Lettuce, Carrots, Cucumbers, and Radishes. Nice salad garden. Me and mom are sharing the new tiny garden space. She planted some of tomato's and pepper plants. Soon will be able to slice up some tomato's and onion fresh from the garden to put on hamburgers. :)
