06/14/2018 Bristol TN & VA Walk About

Got up this morning took my aluminium cans off to be recycled and bought some breakfast.  On the way back through downtown Bristol seen some old antique cars.  Didn't have my camera at the time so went back home dropped mom off at her house then headed back.   Once I got back to Down Town State Street the cars where moved but found them at different locations.  Was able to get some pictures and spoke to a couple of the owners.  They where from over in North Carolina and a whole group of antique car owners where on vacation together, each driving their vintage vehicles.  It was nice to see them down town.   It was nostalgic.  The couple had driven to NY even and said it was a good chance to socialize and get out.  They enjoyed doing that more than any other vacations.   The owner stated his antique ford was garage kept and never even painted no modifications.   Of course pictures to follow...

After speaking to the owners of the cars... I walked around a bit looking for some of the other cars from the group.   Then visited the Benjamin Walls Art Studio.  It was very nice and the people there where very friendly.  His art work was awesome.  Mostly photography and very well framed.  I didn't meet Mr. Walls.  One of his staff said he had art and various museums including the Smithsonian.

As I walked about I came across a few parks some with sculptures, veterans memorials, sculptures depicting the birthplace of country music (Bristol) (Country Music Museum).  and some odd geese.  Downtown Bristol has changed a lot over the years with revitalization efforts.  The old paramount sign still there and the old Uncle Sams Pon Shop which has been there as far as I can remember.
Took a walk around the Old Train Station that has also been refurbished and took pictures of the trains there.   Found a brewery (On Tap Brewery) kinda quaint but the doors where open took a few pictures of the barrels and distillery.  No I did not partake.

It was a pretty good day.  I enjoyed it.  It was little to hot and I wanted to stay longer but had to return home.   I hope to go back and walk about the town again sometime.   Pictures to follow... to many to post here but if you want to look at all of them visit my TN AMYH Flickr Page.   I quickly uploaded the pictures and they still need sorting.  Hope to clean up soon and delete the duplicates.
